I'll stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to promote the upcoming boxing match.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the novice remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really happening.
